Title IX: The Journey Continues
selected story
Women's issues Are America's Issues
Throughout 2008, CFAW will release the second edition of “Progress and Perils,” their national opinion survey. “Progress and Perils II” will capture the experiences, views, and concerns of 1,800 women, with an over-sampling for reliable assessment of African-American, Asian, and Latina perspectives. The survey will measure women's views on a wide range of issues, including the war in Iraq, violence, and healthcare costs, and will examine how women connect politics and policies to the priorities in their personal life. A national non-partisan multimedia campaign, including a video component which captures the issues and concerns of women in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles, will assure that their opinions are broadly heard. To view the full videos, go to www.advancewomen.org. The 2008 election could be a decisive one for women. CFAW will provide the facts that challenge presidential candidates and elected officials to protect women from any form of discrimination.
About CAW: The Center for the Advancement of Women is an independent, non-partisan institution dedicated to research-based advocacy for change in public attitudes and better treatment of women. CFAW was co-founded in 1995 by Faye Wattleton, former President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and lifelong advocate for women's rights. It conducts cutting-edge national opinion research to capture a collective profile of women's daily experiences, views and priorities and raise evidence-based awareness of women's realities through mass media and interactive technology.
